  • To recognize each child as an individual with specific needs.

  • To adapt the curriculum to meet their needs.

THE APPROACH

Using over 20 years of collective teaching experience and direct positive contact with children and adults of all ages, we have designed a fun and exciting teaching method sure to keep you and your child's attention. Our "Clubhouse" method combines traditional teaching methods with guided exploration and self reliance. Our unique peer method is used to raise confident leaders and role models.

MEET THE INSTRUCTOR

Dave Yamaya was raised on the small island of Maui, Hawaii and grew up in and around   the ocean and ocean lifestyle. Living in the tightly knit community of Maui gave him his ability to easily connect with others, making friendships across the Hawaiian islands through surfing and other water sports. In his later years, Dave worked different jobs giving him skills in many areas including cooking, painting, tile, and later a surf coach/team captain for a top Japanese surf apparel brand. He has also won countless awards in surfing contests including the Hawaii State Surfing Championships and United States Surfing Federation.

Dave made his move to Japan in 2003, started a family and worked as an English instructor for WinBe English school for over 15 years in Kamogawa city as a teacher, head teacher, and curriculum creator, while building new friendships within the community. During this time, he juggled being a teacher, professional surfer, professional surfing photographer, father and husband. In mid November 2018, Dave decided to start his own English school with a new method and fresh approach to teaching English.

Dave is dedicated to ensuring his students enjoy learning English. "There is no greater reward than a smiling and laughing student who wants to participate in the lessons." He understands that everyone learns at their own pace, and the importance of leadership roles and “big brother/sister” bonds and friendships go a long way in building trust and bringing the community of Kamogawa closer together. He is also considerate to the parents and their expectations, and believes communication is the key to success.
